This week has gone by really quickly - it's already Friday! Time seems to go by so quickly when you have so many things to do. This week I've started my new job as an office minion, while still in the midst of leaving my previous job. This new office minion job place where I used to work at (but a different position) offered me a job which sounded more flexible and pays more. So I had to break the bad news to my in-charge that I was leaving after only 1 month of working there. LoL. I felt really bad about it, but not being too attached to the company made things a lot easier.
So because it was a bit too short a notice to get a replacement, I had to work another couple of weeks until they got someone. As a result, this week I work at 2 places for 4 days straight! It's quite a lot of time since my priorities are still on my studies. I've sacrificed time that I would otherwise have been able to do some revision and complete my assignments.
But I am glad the week is ending soon, and from next week onwards I'll have tons to catch up. I have to learn to be a good girl next week! :(
The boyfriend is snoring. I went to bed early but when the bf came to bed to join me, I woke up cause it was warm and I am having stomach discomfort. I feel like a water balloon right now. But I'm glad I'm not having the horrible cramps that usually comes with my period. The bloated feeling is keeping me away :(
The weather seems to be slightly better this week, and I really hopes it the temperatures goes down a bit more as the week progresses! It makes me feel dreadful about leaving the house in the afternoon, and I've to rethink about what I want to wear to feel cooler (pun unintended). Anyway although I woke up late and was in a rush today, I still squeezed out time to do some makeup!
Well the pictures were taken after I got home, about 8 - 10 hours later, but the colours still stayed (on the eyes at least!)
What I Used:
Silk Naturals Perfect Harmony Foundation
Silk Naturals Date Bait Finishing Powder
Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion (Can't do without it anymore!)
My Mineral Bath and Body Be Dazzle
Everyday minerals Autumn Afternoon
The usual mascara (From Maybelline)
Cheeks:
My Mineral Bath and Body Adobe
Lips:
Silk Naturals Darling
After a few uses, I have finally realized why Ann made sure I bought a tube of Darling when I was getting my SN goodies. It's a good lip colour even when I don't wear any makeup. It moisturizes relatively well (I do a horrible job hydrating my lips) and gives me a bit of colour on the face. Again I tried my Urban Decay Primer Potion, and I must say if you can please go and get a tube of those! (Sissie: don't bother yourself cause I think the Paintpots work well).
Also, it was the first time I gave Adobe blush a try, as I really liked my Lumiere blush in terra cotta. If you know me well enough I tend to stick to something that works and kinda get too lazy to try new colours. Anyway on first look Adobe looked too pale and pastel for me, but it gave me a natural flush kinda look, which I really liked! Definitely a full size of this soon!
I have so many things I want to get from the various MMU shops online. I'd like to give Meow's foundation a try, inedible gel liners, full size of Adobe blush from MMBB, Love Lure from SN, The She Space pigments, more falsies!
I've never remembered Singapore so hot before, like 35 degree Celsius! It's not only hot, it's humid so it makes everyone feel so sticky! I totally hate that feeling. The heat and humidity is definitely not helpful to my skin, especially since a giant pimple popped on my forehead. I mustn't complain, since my skin has improved so much since December, with a lot of help from Ann and reading the posts of all you girls out there! So a big thank you for sharing your skin care regimen!
Ann has really been a great friend. I'm in a difficult financial situation right now and because of that I have to be VERY disciplined in what I buy, especially online with sales and stuff. But she has been generous in sharing some of the products she's purchased, all without asking for anything back, maybe except my friendship and a listening ear whenever she complains about her hubby and daughter. LOL. She's a really nice mummy and friend!
So here's a post just for you Sissie, which you have to share with my rant about the weather LOL. Thanks for all the support and help you've given!
It's a public holiday today - Labour Day or May Day! I've been sick this week so I thought I'd be able to sleep in today. However, I woke up at noon to a phone call from a colleague and decided not to sleep anymore. My boyfriend left a message asking if I wanted to go to the Singapore Flyer.
In case you're wondering, this is similar to the London Eye. Anyway as promised, I've got a FOTD! Sadly, the camera could not capture the colours of my eye makeup, where I gave UDPP my first try. It dries up really quickly and sets the makeup very quickly too. Even my liquid eyeliner set very quickly, without me having to keep one eye close while waiting for it to dry. I wore it for about 6 hours and the colours were still as vibrant as when I left home with it. Like I said, the camera could not capture the colours well.
Silk Naturals Perfect Harmony Foundation (I forgot the proportions)
Silk Naturals Date Bait as Finishing Powder
Eyes:
The She Space Glossy Moon on Inner V
The She Space Kitty Kat on Outer V and on the crease (I think)
Everyday Minerals Autumn Afternoon on Outer V
Silky Girl Eyebrow pencil in Black
Maybelline's XXL Mascara
Ardell Fashion Lashes #124
Cheeks:
Lumiere's Terra Cotta
Lips:
Silk Naturals Lipstick in Darling
Here's some pictures I took while on the Singapore Flyer. It was a clear day so I got a good view of the city.
I shall go get some rest now. Tata!
Skin Type: Normal, finally got rid of the oily T Zone!
Known Sensitivities (if any): Thankfully none for my face!
Desired Coverage: Medium - Heavy. Need to at least cover my concealor
Top Mineral Foundations: Unfortunately, I have not tried many, probably because Silk Naturals Perfect Harmony Foundation made me not want to look further!
Top Finishing Powders/Powder Primers: Silk Naturals Dait Bate is currently on my top, I like to use it whenever I'm too lazy to do a proper makeup, but still want to use prim and proper.
Top Concealers/Correctors: Not using any, because I have waaaaaaaay too many things to conceal. LOL.
Top Illuminators/Glows/All Over Face Color/Radiances: None. =(
Top Mineral Blush: I love Lumiere's Terra Cotta for giving me just the right amount of colour
Top Bronzers: Currently looking for one to learn how to use a bronzer. Any recommendations?
Top Eye Shadows/Powder Eyeliners: It's got to be Lumiere's Prismatic Pink! And perhaps The She Space for all the vibrant pigments!
Top Mineral Pencil Eyeliners/Highlighters: Don't use a mineral one currently, but am quite satisfied with my Missha eyeliner and Shu Uemura's eyeliner pencil in metallic black.
Top Mineral Lippies (lipstick, gloss, tints): Lumiere Tahitian Coral, Silk Naturals Rapture, Vivacious and Darling for lighter days.
Top Mineral Pencil Lip Liners: None. =(
Top *Other* Falsies!: I just have to do it don't I? LoL. Ardell's #124 for natural look and Elise for it's prettiness. Will probably have more to choose from soon.
Top *Other* Facial Cleanser: Avene Soapless Foaming Gel
Top *Other* Mascara: Maybelline's XXL, but I need one that doesn't clump up as much! HELP!
Face Primers (non mineral): Don't own one =(
Eye Primers (non mineral): Urban Decay Primer Potion! (That's the only one I have anyway)
Hey ladies! Sorry, but this is not a UDPP post, but I hope I've enough time tomorrow to do some make-up for school & work, which should be a good test as to whether the UDPP lasts well for a whole day. But but but... I've got pictures for you to drool at first, especially for those residing in Singapore, specifically Ann. Hur hur
Anyway, this is not the focus of my blog entry. As some of you may already know, I am a falsies addict. N seeing how I got some extra money in the bank, I decided to grab 2 pairs of Ardell falsies! That made me very happy for the day, although I bought some other items as I was browsing around Watson's. I'm glad they have an entire revolving stand devoted to Ardell's products, and you can get the brow defining powders, eyebrow stencils, lash conditioner, blending mascara, and (I think) even eyelash curler. They've got individual lashes too, which I doubt I have the patience to learn to apply, but the day I do purchase a set of them may eventually arrive.
This is the collection of Ardell Fashion Lashes from MadameMadeline. I've never purchased any from there, but may do so since the site also offers Gypsies, Elise, etc, and recently they've brought in Revlon as well, which has a similar packaging as Ardell, making me wonder if they're the same. I currently have, #106, #104 #124 (which mysteriously disappeared) and today I bought #105 and #107. Here's some pictures I just took wearing #107.
I am looking forward to purchasing #101 demi, which was only available in brown. I guess it must be very popular since only a couple of them were left on the shelf. #115 Showgirl looks really interesting but I'm not sure if they're waaaay too long seeing how #107 already looks long. Anyway I took out my Elise falsies and compared them with Ardell's.
Firstly, Elise has a softer lash band as compared with Ardell, which makes it flexible and easier to apply it along the lash line. I also think that the soft lash band makes it feel less like there's something stuck on your eyelid. Ardell's lash band seems to be made of those fishing strings (is it nylon?), which tends to feel prickly when they are applied too near the inner corner of your eye, and can also feel itchy at the outer corner when you blink. But this is a very small problem, as long as you trim the lengths to suit the stretch of your lash line. It doesn't really matter if the falsies don't cover your inner lash, 'cause in my opinion, the inner lashes are almost invisible.
Elise Falsies:
Ardell Falsies in #124.
Sadly, Elise doesn't seem to offer any falsies that are suitable for everyday wear, save for maybe one design. Most of them are fanciful like the one I have, or can be more dramatic. I'd say they are very suitable for parties, unless you have to make a statement and look really good everyday. Ardell offers a relativley wide range of falsies designs for everyday wear (each pair can last up to 2 weeks depending on how long you wear them for). Both cost about the same here in Singapore, and if you're interested, Ardell can be bought at Watsons, John Little (Marina Square) and Sasa. Elise seems to be only available at Sasa. You can also order them online through MadameMadeline
I reckon you don't have to buy a different glue for each brand, but if you are lazy and impatient to peel the glue off the falsies, I suggest using the glue and remover specific to each brand. When I used Ardell glue remover to get rid of the glue from my Elise falsies, they seem to be tinted with black stuff, probably it took away the colouring from the Elise lash band as well? But I have absolutely no problem with removing my lash glue from Ardell.
I am definitely going back to expand my collection, and am thinking of getting the dark glue (currently using the clear one) as the glue can stick to my eyeliner and then I have a whitish/greyish thingy on my eyeliner which I am so afraid to remove in fear of spoiling my eye make up.
Anyone who has good brands of falsies, please feel free to tempt me!
Yesterday, I got a little surprise from a friend, Patience. She made little cupcakes!
They look so cute don't they? They're too adorable I'm not sure if I want to gobble them up. The poor cupcake at the bottom of the picture got kinda squashed in the car when my butt slipped off the chair. LOL.
The close-up picture isn't very clear, but I'm sure you can Mr. Smiley (or whatever his name is) standing on the cupcake screaming, "Eat me!"
I got my Lumiere eyeshadow in Prismastic Pink! Since Ann was ordering some stuff I decided to spend a teeny weeny bit of money to get a full sized prismatic pink eyeshadow which I totally adore. For those who don't know, when I got the sample size to try out, I decided to pigment them into the little butterfly-shaped palette. It was really nice at first, until I accidentally knocked the palette over the table. Needless to say one of my first mineral eyeshadow was gone.
I'm not sure how many of you out there have tried it, but I personally think it is a MUST HAVE. When Ann first saw it, she said, "Your eyeshadow is white!" It's really cool cause when you apply it on the eye it's whitish and pinkish, like a prism (therefore the name). Ann had trouble removing the sifter to grab some to try, and I broke my nail in the process =(
Anyway I shall show all you girls why you should part with your money and get at least one! I guess it works great as a highlight but have yet to try it. No pictures yet because...
My sister is coming home from her US + Europe trip probably this weekend, and guess what she's bringing home for me? UDPP!!! It's not available in Singapore so I got her to get it for me. I must admit the first thing that attracted me to it was the shape of the bottle. LOL. Anyway I really want to see what the raves are about, so you can be sure to look out for lotsa colours on my blog *finally*.
The boyfriend celebrates his birthday next weekend and I am clueless about what to do. Any ideas?
P.S.: Ann has this amazing way to tempt me.
I haven't been very motivated to post pictures on my blog because the camera is in possession of my boyfriend, who recently left for China (I joke about it saying he has gone there to find himself a wife), and ever since I started using his camera, I feel very inferior using my phone camera to take pictures.
Recently I bought myself a Nintendo DS Lite to entertain myself when I'm bored and so far I must say that I really love it! Here's how mine looks like - pink!
I have not done anything to it yet, but me being me, I hope to give customize its exterior a bit, by transforming it into
something like this:
This is designed by Paris Hilton and it's so bling! But I kinda like it. I'm not sure if I can DIY because I'm not a very creative person, and it'll be very costly to get someone to do it. It will probably take me some time to decide on how I want to arrange my blings.
If you own a Nintendo DS too, here are the games I'm currently playing...
Bleach: The Blade of Fate. Bleach is one of my favourite animes, and being a fan of it I obviously will not miss this! Graphics are good and it's basically a street fighter kind of game. Bleach fans should try this!
Full Metal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy. Full Metal Alchemist is another favourite anime! Must watch this! It comes with a very touching storyline and I must applaud the Japanese for being so creative. Again, this comes with good graphics and instead of playing the arcade style VS fight, there are more movements involved, and you get to use some alchemy! Whoohoo!
These are the 2 games I'm currently trying hard to complete, Other games include:
And a few others which I am still playing around with. Some games like X-Men and Resident Evil were a disappointment, with not as impressing graphics. Shall stick to my Japanese games. I am still waiting for the Death Note game to be released in English, since I don't know how to read Japanese.
Anyone who has good games to reccommend, please leave a comment!
I am very happy! This week I went on a geeky retail therapy which seems to make me happier than shopping for clothes. I didn't buy a lot of things actually, but they cost me a lot of money! I got myself a Pink Nintendo DS Lite, a pink soft pouch to go with it, and a 3.5" hard disk casing to use my 100GB hard disk which has been sitting in the dead desktop since forever. I reformatted my computer and decided to downgrade from Windows Vista back to Windows XP, which is a lot more stable and faster now, although there are some parts of Vista which I miss, but are not much of a big deal. I tried to load Mac Leopard X too, and it successfully installed. Only problem now is that it does not detect my keyboard, but will detect an external USB keyboard.
It will be very cool if I can make it a complete success, but I am still waiting for a reply from the author who wrote the tutorial. Anyway I sound so geeky. I'm very happy because now I have 100GB extra to store all my junk important files, since I figured out that a lot of files I try to store in my 60GB HDD are not accessed as often.
Anyway I have made some little discoveries while playing around with some colors I never think I'd wear, but I will talk about that in my next entry, with pictures! Good night!
I am so happy happy happy!
